Tilt Match

Tilt Match is a calm puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Android. Match a pair and the whole board slides the way you matched it. Made by Vio Labs.

Coming soon on iOS and Android. Tilt Match is not in the App Store or on Google Play yet.

A Tilt Match board of twenty coloured tiles in five rows. Two purple star tiles in the second column are outlined, and an arrow above them points up.
Level 1207. The player is swiping between two star tiles from the lower one to the upper one, so the arrow shows that the board will slide up.

What it is

Tilt Match is a single-player puzzle game. Each level is a small board of coloured tiles, four columns wide and four or five rows deep. There are four kinds of tile, and each has its own colour and symbol. Clear the board by removing matching pairs.

Two identical tiles that sit side by side, or one above the other, make a pair. The order in which you pick them sets a direction: from left to right, right to left, top to bottom or bottom to top. The pair is removed and every remaining tile on the board slides that way, as far as it can go. The same pair can leave a very different board depending on which way you match it, so the puzzle is choosing which pair to take and which way to send it.

Swipe from one tile to its match, or tap one and then the other. There is no timer and no limit on moves.

What is in it

  • 3,000 levels. Fixed boards, each with a known solution. Finish a level to open the next. The first three teach the rules, and you can go back and replay any level you have finished.
  • Undo. Free, and it can take you all the way back to the start of the level.
  • Hints. A hint looks at the board in front of you and shows a pair and the direction that keep a solution open. If there is no way to clear the board from where you are, it offers to undo back to the last position that can still be solved.
  • Settings. Sound on or off, and reduced motion.
  • Offline. All 3,000 levels are in the app, and you can play them without a connection.
A board with twelve tiles left and empty spaces along the top and right. Two blue diamond tiles in the second column are outlined, and an arrow below them points down. A line under the buttons says: Try this pair in the direction of the arrow.
A hint on level 1207, after four pairs have been cleared. It suggests the two diamonds, matched downwards.
A board with fourteen tiles, with gaps where earlier pairs were removed. Two yellow triangle tiles side by side in the fourth row are outlined, and an arrow on the right edge of the board points right.
Level 1803. Matching the two triangles from left to right will slide every row of the board to the right.

Price and coins

Tilt Match is free to play. Undo costs nothing. A hint costs 100 coins and a restart costs 10. You get 100 coins on each day that you open the game. A new day starts at midnight UTC.

You can also choose to watch a video advert for 200 more coins, once a day. After you have finished 20 levels, the game sometimes offers this when you finish a level for the first time. You can turn those offers off in Settings, and watching is never required. The levels, and whether they can be solved, never depend on adverts.

A pack of 500 coins, bought in the app, is planned. It is not on sale yet.

Privacy

Tilt Match has no accounts and no crash reporting, and it sends no analytics. Your progress, and a record of your play that you can export, stay on your device. Adverts come from Google AdMob and load only when you choose to watch one. The Tilt Match privacy policy sets out what the app stores, what it sends and to whom.
