Run Cards

Run Cards is a card puzzle for iPhone and Android. Connect numbered cards in order, let the table fall and collect every gold card. Made by Vio Labs.

Coming soon on iOS and Android. Run Cards is not in the App Store or on Google Play yet.

A five by five table of numbered cards. Four cards, 6, 7, 8 and 9, are joined by a green ribbon that bends round a corner, and the 9 is a gold card. Below the table the run is shown as 6 to 9, with the cards and replacements it needs.
Level 25, The long way round. A four card run picks up one of the four gold cards and will use four of the 14 cards in stock.

What it is

Run Cards is a short puzzle game played with numbered cards on a five by five table. Swipe through neighbouring cards in order, such as 3, 4, 5 or 7, 6, 5, 4, and release to clear them. The cards above fall, and replacements from a fixed stock fill the gaps.

Some cards are gold. Collect every gold card to win the level. The stock is limited, so the choice that matters is where to stop a run: a longer run changes more of the table, but it uses more replacement cards. The last gold card can be collected even when the stock is empty.

It is played by touch: swipe through the cards, or tap them one at a time and then tap Clear run.

What is in it

  • Levels. 3,000 fixed levels in 600 chapters of five. Each level opens when you complete the one before it. Every level has a winning route that needs no extra cards, and restarting a level gives the same puzzle.
  • Rules you can see. A run is three to nine cards that share an edge, going up or down by one each time. The path can bend round corners. The next six replacement cards are always shown, and the whole stock can be viewed at any time.
  • Help. Undo, Restart and Hint are free. A hint shows one useful run on the current table.
  • Personal bests. Each level records the fewest stock cards you have used to win it. Replay a level to beat it.
  • Seals and colours. Each completed chapter earns a seal. Twelve more table colours unlock as you complete levels, the last at 3,000.
  • Settings. Sound, reduced motion and a vibration when you win. Your progress is saved on your device as you play.
The table part way through a move. Two columns have gaps where a run was cleared, and the cards above them are falling. Three gold cards remain and four cards are left in stock.
A run has just been cleared. The cards above fall straight down, and replacements fill the lowest gaps first.
The level complete panel over the table. It says Every gold, collected, with 13 stock cards used in 5 runs, a seal for chapter 5 and a new table colour, with buttons for the next level and to replay.
Level 25 complete. It is the last level of chapter 5, so it earns the chapter seal and unlocks the Dusk table colour.
