Notes Company No. 01

Vio Labs has its own site

violabs.co.uk used to redirect to violetre.io. Anyone who typed the company's address arrived at the Violet RE site. The address now serves the site you are reading.

Vio Labs is the company. Violet RE is the one project it has made public. More projects will be added under the company name, each on its own site, and the company needs a place to list them.

What is here

The projects register has one entry per project: a plain description, the current status and a direct link to the project's own site. It has one entry today.

Notes is where we publish technical writing. This is the first note. There is an Atom feed for anyone who prefers a reader.

The About page gives the company details. Vio Labs LTD is registered in England and Wales, company number 17466165.

Violet RE

Violet RE does static reverse engineering. It decompiles binaries and mobile apps (APK, AAB and IPA) into readable source. Every identifier rename it proposes is checked against an equivalence gate for the language, and the report records which proposals were accepted and which were rejected. It then checks the recovered source for known weakness types, such as injection and path traversal. Each finding states its conditions, its confidence and what the analysis could not verify. Targets are never executed on the public tier.

Violet RE is not open yet. Uploads are not being accepted and accounts cannot be created. Release is expected in autumn 2026. There is a waitlist on its site, which sends one message when the service opens.

What to expect from the notes

The long teardowns of specific binaries stay on violetre.io, under analysis writeups. The notes here are about method: how a check works, what it can show, and what it cannot.

They follow the rule we apply to the projects. A claim comes with what supports it, and with the point where it stops holding.

We are not announcing a schedule.
